d.u.h.Group at the Münsterland Giro 2025
Team spirit characterises the end of the sporting season
The Sparkassen Münsterland Giro on 3 October was once again a highlight of the regional sporting calendar. In ideal conditions, over 7,000 cyclists tackled the routes through the Münsterland region. For the d.u.h.Group, the event served as a powerful demonstration of team spirit and partnership with our customers, staff and our partner Plasmatreat.
Together at the start
A total of 20 riders competed for the d.u.h.Group, including 16 customers and 4 employees. Across the 65 km, 95 km and 125 km distances, the aim was to achieve personal bests. A particular eye-catcher and, at the same time, a symbol of our community were the high-quality blue team jerseys featuring the d.u.h.Group branding, which emphasised our sense of togetherness on the route.
The d.u.h.Group Drivers Lounge on Schlossplatz provided the ideal setting for the day. As the central meeting point, it not only offered the chance to collect race packs and get changed, but above all provided a space for people to meet and chat over snacks and drinks. Together with Plasmatreat, sporting ambition was combined here with a successful end to the season.
Top performance over 125 kilometres
A particular highlight came from our colleague Maximilian Wehmschulte, who put in a strong performance over the ‘royal distance’ of 125 km and finished in an excellent 35th place in the men’s classification. His average speed of 44.6 km/h is a testament to his exceptional concentration and stamina.
Max reports: “The organisation was top-notch; the d.u.h.Group and Plasmatreat really had thought of everything. A particular highlight was our blue-branded jerseys. This was my third time at the Giro, and just like every year, everyone looks forward to the event as it’s a fitting end to the season.
The race itself was intense – the weather and the route were perfect, even though you always had to stay fully focused due to the accordion effect in the bends. After the bends, it was all about pedalling hard to stay in the slipstream and not lose the group.
The final five kilometres were particularly fast and gruelling. Everyone gave it their all one last time to secure the best possible placing. In the end, I finished in 35th place. Thank you once again for this special experience.”
Successes for Plasmatreat
Our partner team, Plasmatreat, also had major successes to celebrate: Elisa Kockelmann secured victory after a thrilling race, whilst Svea Lüdorff capped off her strong performance with third place – her first podium finish in a top national race.
The race got off to a turbulent start: there were repeated minor incidents in the mixed field of men and women. However, Kockelmann and Lüdorff held their own with confidence and were among the top ten women at all three split times.
Team manager David Buske from Team Plasmatreat was also delighted: “Not only did we perform well on the track today, but we also enjoyed a fantastic event together with our partner, the d.u.h.Group from Bielefeld. The fact that we were then able to celebrate a podium finish as well is simply brilliant. It was particularly enjoyable to compete in the race alongside so many amateur riders this time – it was much more relaxed than a Bundesliga race,” said Buske with a wink.
The 2025 Münsterland Giro was a striking demonstration of how sporting ambition, strong partnerships and a real sense of community all come together. We would like to thank all the customers and staff who took part, as well as Plasmatreat, for this successful day, and we look forward to the next season.
