Hanse Baustrom Systeme GmbH is a specialist contractor specialising in on-site power supply and cable installation, offering a nationwide hire service. Since its foundation in 2002, the company has been serving clients in the construction, industrial and energy sectors. Its catchment area extends from the greater Hamburg area to the whole of Germany.
Background and Objectives
For a long time, day-to-day operations at HBS were characterised by paper-based resource planning, handwritten timesheets and a lack of digital interfaces. Whilst the processes worked, they were error-prone, time-consuming and lacked transparency. The company’s aim was therefore to digitise the key processes relating to project and deployment management in a step-by-step, efficient and practical manner.
Challenges and Solutions
The biggest challenge lay in the transition from established structures to fully digital processes.
The d.u.h.Group subsequently developed a bespoke solution tailored precisely to HBS’s requirements. This was built using Mendix, a powerful low-code platform. The low-code approach enabled applications to be developed particularly quickly and adapted flexibly to practical needs, without lengthy development cycles or complex integration projects.
The focus was on establishing a central digital system that covers both operational planning and mobile working on the construction site.
