Efficient data management with Teamcenter at Adolf Föhl
Decentralised data, lengthy search times, a lack of transparency – before introducing Teamcenter with TC4YOU, Föhl faced the challenge of efficiently linking scattered information and complex processes. Working together with the d.u.h.Group, a centralised PLM system was developed that links product data, business processes in development and project planning, and teams across different sites.

Adolf Föhl GmbH + Co. KG is an internationally active family-run business headquartered in Germany. For decades, Föhl has been synonymous with the highest quality and innovation in zinc die-casting and zinc-plastic hybrid technology.
Using state-of-the-art technology and over 100 production machines at sites in Germany and China, the company supplies customers worldwide.
Project objective
From silos of knowledge to a centralised data flow.
The aim was to provide centralised access to product development and project information, keep data up to date, and manage all development data in an audit-proof manner. Defined approval processes were also intended to improve visibility for cross-site collaboration.
To achieve this, Föhl required a scalable PDM system that integrates various disciplines and enables the reuse of data through intelligent search functions.
Challenges & Solutions
One system, many requirements.
Different departments had their own perspectives and access requirements – a flexible solution was needed. With TC4YOU – Teamcenter for SMEs, a pre-configured instance was introduced that immediately met 80% of the requirements.
The remaining 20% were specifically tailored to the client’s needs in collaboration with the d.u.h.Group until business processes and the user interface were perfectly aligned. Workshops, training sessions and ongoing process development supported the entire implementation process.
