Euscher optimises product development with the d.u.h.Group

CUSTOMER
Euscher GmbH & Co. KG is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of deep-drawn metal parts. The company supplies renowned customers worldwide in the medical technology, food and cosmetics sectors. To meet the growing demands for precision, efficiency and digitalisation, Euscher chose the d.u.h.Group as its implementation partner for an end-to-end CAD/CAM solution.
The challenge:
to establish a seamless data chain that efficiently integrates design, production planning and manufacturing – with centralised data management, automated work preparation and CAM-supported manufacturing.

Digitalisation, data quality and efficient reuse
With a large number of drawings, versions and complex tools, Euscher had previously been working in separate systems – a process that led to coordination problems and wasted time in day-to-day operations. In addition, duplicates in the inventory data needed to be removed and the reuse of existing data improved in order to reduce costs and boost productivity.
Key project requirements:
-
An end-to-end process chain from design to production
-
A consistent database across all departments
-
CAD/CAM integration for better quality and shorter development times
-
Introduction of a centralised data management system (PDM/PLM)
-
Increased reuse of existing data
-
Cost savings and increased productivity through reuse
-
Elimination of duplicates within existing data
-
Future-proof system architecture with training and support

The solution
CAD, PLM and geometry search intelligently integrated
Working in close collaboration, the d.u.h.Group developed an integrated solution concept based on Siemens NX CAD, Teamcenter and Geolus. The implementation included:
-
Indexing of 400,000 objects
-
Integration of Shape Search into the Rich Application Client (RAC), web browser, ActiveWorkspace and NX
-
Delivery of precise results even for rough sketches
-
Customisation of the user interface to meet client-specific requirements
-
Full integration into the existing system landscape
Results & Achievements
Efficient searching, structured data, reduced workload
. With the introduction of the Shape Search solution based on Geolus, inventory data has been automatically structured, duplicates identified and reuse made easier. Design, manufacturing and data management now work together seamlessly – for greater efficiency and data quality across the entire organisation.
Highlights & achievements:
- Complete indexing of all inventory data, including customer-specific attributes
- Customisation of the user interface, including features
- Delivery of precise results regardless of the application used
- Generation of a comprehensive report on all duplicates in the system
- Identification of similar parts based on a rough sketch of the source part
