GFP greenhouse with glass panes

The project
Conversion to glass panes for a modern greenhouse
Traditional greenhouses often rely on double-skin plastic sheets (8 mm or 16 mm thick). GFP has set itself the goal of developing an alternative with 4 mm thick glass panes – for a more durable, visually appealing and stable solution.
But the change in material alone was not enough. The door solution and the rain drain were also revised:
- A sliding door replaces the conventional swing door - space-saving and convenient to use.
- The rain drainage system has been optimised to ensure better water drainage and less soiling.
Process
Customer successes individual phases
- Plastic twin-wall sheets as the previous material
- Swing door took up unnecessary space
- Inefficient rainwater drainage system that needed to be improved

Conclusion
Technical facts
- Material: 4 mm thick glass instead of plastic twin-wall sheets
- Door system: Sliding door for space-saving use
- Assembly: End customer-friendly design for quick assembly
- Development: Siemens NX & Teamcenter for precise customisation
