Open Innovation Days 2026: Experience digital engineering and AI first-hand

Under the motto “Innovations by experts, for experts”, the d.u.h.Group is hosting a groundbreaking series of events in March 2026. On two dates in Erkrath and Erlangen, the focus will be on the most pressing questions facing modern manufacturing: How can AI, digital twins and cross-process networking be used to reduce costs and drastically shorten development times?

Companies in the DACH economic region are currently under immense pressure. Rising costs, scarce resources and global competition are forcing a rethink of product development. The d.u.h.Group Open Innovation Days 2026 provide the ideal platform for this and demonstrate in a practical way how Siemens’ industrial software ecosystem and state-of-the-art AI applications can deliver a decisive competitive advantage.

Two locations – a focus on practical application

This year’s Innovation Days are firmly focused on the ‘live experience’. At two top-class venues, technologies will not only be discussed in theory, but also demonstrated in action:

  • 24 March 2026 | Erkrath (Seco Tools GmbH): Experience the end-to-end process of a component – from initial design and simulation through to production and measurement – live on the actual machine.

  • 26 March 2026 | Erlangen (The Impact – Siemens Experience Centre): The focus here is on interactive stations at real machine tools and tailored group sessions designed to explore specific technical topics in greater depth.

Digital Thread, Agentic AI and Cost Management

A key topic on the agenda is the d.u.h. Digital Thread. The d.u.h. Group will demonstrate how an integrated process chain is created throughout the product lifecycle and how virtual collaboration can be implemented more efficiently. In addition, the focus will be on the latest AI features, Agentic AI and low-code approaches to bring software solutions into use more quickly.

In 2026, particular attention will be paid to cost-effectiveness: specialist partner Intelizign will address the topic of cost management. The experts from Intelizign will demonstrate how companies can set the course for profitable production and eliminate cost drivers at an early stage, even in the early phases of development, through intelligent Design-to-Cost and Teamcenter Cost Management.

Manufacturing technologies directly at the machine

In the live demos, participants will learn how to optimise their shop floor:

  • ACM (Adaptive Control & Monitoring): Increased productivity and process stability through adaptive control in machining – live at the machine.

  • Digital Twin: Validate NC programmes offline and reduce engineering times with Run & Create MyVirtual Machine.

  • Mcenter: Transparency and data consistency through the seamless integration of machine tools with the IT landscape.

Highlight: The industrial metaverse you can experience first-hand

One of the event’s technological highlights is immersive visualisation using Sony VR headsets. Visitors can experience CAD models from NX in a VR environment in a way that feels tangible. This form of visualisation enables faster coordination and better design decisions, as proportions and functions can be assessed realistically even before the first prototype is produced.

Networking and registration

The Open Innovation Days 2026 mark the start of a new chapter, offering even greater practical relevance for day-to-day engineering work. Alongside the technical presentations, the focus is on personal interaction. The d.u.h.Group is therefore inviting all participants to a group dinner following the technical programme, starting at 6.00 pm.
