Photo station for CEWE

Upcycling
A new look for old favourites
We were commissioned by CEWE, one of the leading providers of photo printing systems, to develop a facelift for its photo stations, which are now 10 years old. To achieve this, we gave the front panels a contemporary look with a new free-form surface design.
The technical components of all existing units were reused in the process, in line with the principles of a sustainable circular economy.

Concept phase
Diversity offers opportunities
So as not to limit our perspective too much from the outset, the ideation phase begins – as always – with pen and paper. This results in countless rough sketches in no time at all. They form the basis for the design concepts.

Implementation
From paper to computer
Working closely with CEWE, the chosen concept was then developed into a CAD model and thoroughly reviewed to ensure it met all the requirements.

Future-proof
Design with an eye to the future
Upgrades to the existing photo stations that had already been planned were, of course, taken into account during the facelift, ensuring that the new front is ‘forward-compatible’.
Maintaining the ‘look and feel’ of the CEWE brand within these extremely tight specifications, whilst at the same time making it more modern and contemporary, required not only a delicate touch but also a fundamental understanding of materials and technical possibilities.
